Panelists: 

Matt Hamrick, Head of HR at Mercedes Benz
Has been working at Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC since 2017, formerly General Counsel/Head of Legal, now Head of HR responsible for a 30-person team supporting production plant in recruiting, hiring, payroll, benefits, safety, security, emergency/fire response, medical, environmental, food services, team wear, communications, team relations, training, development, HR projects, and strategy.

Holds a bachelor's degree from the College of Charleston, a Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law of Samford University; and is a licensed attorney and admitted to the bars of all South Carolina courts, United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Lives in Charleston. In his free time he plays guitar, surfs, skateboards, snowboards, plays tennis, goes hiking/backpacking, and enjoys spending time with friends and family. His special relaxation method is surfing.

Katie Bloomquist, Founder of Going Places
Katie Blomquist is a Nonprofit Founder and Executive Director, social media manager, college adjunct professor, nonprofit coach, and speaker. Katie uses her current success story as the Founder and Executive Director of the nonprofit, Going Places to teach others the how-to, to create impactful messaging, and to navigate the media and social media for maximum fundraising results while creating their own successful nonprofit.  

Katie has been featured on The Steve Harvey Show, ABC World News Tonight, Nightly News with Lester Holt, and many more. She uses her incredible insight to help other leaders create an impact in their communities. Katie helps companies use social media just like she did to gain exposure for Going Places to grow their brand.

Mitchell Harp, Dean of the Apprenticeship Programs at Trident Technical College
Mitchell Harp has been employed by Trident Technical College for 25 years and serves as the Dean of Apprenticeships and Employer Partnerships.   In this role, he leads a team who are responsible for working with local industries to establish federally registered apprenticeship programs, which combine on-the-job training with classroom instruction.   His work in the field led to over 200 employer partnerships in the Charleston region and to the development of the Charleston Regional Youth Apprenticeship program,  a nationally recognized workforce development model created through a regional collaborative community partnership to address the critical workforce needs within Charleston and mentor the next generation of skilled workers for the Lowcountry.  He has spoken nationally on the topic of apprenticeships and currently serves on the board of the Partnership to Advance Youth Apprenticeships.  Mitchell retired from the United States Naval Reserve in 2017 with 32 years of service.  He holds a Master of Arts in Business and Management from Webster University and a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from the Medical University of South Carolina.
